African surfing team to visit Swansea, Porthcawl and Neath during UK tour

A SOUTH African surfing team will pay a visit to Swansea and Neath next week.

The team riders are all former street children who grew up in Durban at a project called Umthombo Street Children.

They are now, as adults, part of an organisation and surfing team called Surfers Not Street Children which aims to change the way that society perceives and treats street children around the world, while promoting the use of surfing as a tool.

Three of the lead surfers are currently touring the UK to compete, teach and raise awareness of street life.
