On Saturday, February 4 Maesteg Male Voice choir will be holding its 42nd annual concert. As previously, the concert will be held at the wonderful Town Hall in Maesteg.

The concert will commence at 7pm with the doors opening at 6:30pm and it is hoped a full house will enjoy a varied programme of music which the choir will sing, together with the soloists for the evening.

The soprano for the evening will be Angharad Lisbeth Rees who hails from Pontrydyfen and appeared with the choir in 2013 giving a very accomplished performance. Angharad is also an honorary member of the Gorsedd of Bards.

The bass will be Huw Euron from Cardiff who is also a member of Only Men Aloud and the whole concert will be compered by BBC newsreader Rebecca John, who herself has links with Maesteg as her father was a teacher at Maesteg Comprehensive school.

This will be the 17th annual concert in which musical director Rhian Jenkins has led the choir and on this occasion our new accompanist Laura Deenik will be making her debut, and our very best wishes go to her.

Ryan Wood will also be appearing, this evening as accompanist to the performers.

The price of admission has been kept at £8 and it is hoped as many people will come along to enjoy a feast of music.
