Maendy YFC have been incredibly busy this autumn competing in a variety of competitions including stockjudging, street dancing and public speaking, to name a few.

As a club, Maendy did well in the stockjudging being placed fourth overall. Many members were also placed individually including Lauren David in the under-16 section, first in both the lamb and beef sections.

Beth Jarvis was second in the under-26 lamb section and David Popham was placed third in the pig section. Kate Thomas and Beth Jarvis finished second and third overall in the senior stockjudging section.

A special thank you to Richard Western, Arwyn Pritchard and all our training hosts for your help! A huge well done to Lauren David who went on to represent Glamorgan YFC at the winter fair, where she was placed second in the under-16 lamb section.

Maendy did very well in the street dancing competition and took first place with their Indian street dance routine. The all girls team wowed the crowds with their moves and now go on to the Wales finals in April.

December saw the return of the Glamorgan public speaking day, where we entered junior reading and junior public speaking teams. Both teams had fierce competition on the day but spoke very well in all sections.

Lauren David entered the junior member competition and achieved a highly commendable third place. Heather Jarvis and Kate Thomas also entered the senior member competition. Thanks must go to Hannah Lewis and Jayne Brace for training the junior teams.

Please join us for our parents evening on Sunday, January 29 at the Sony Theatre, Bridgend College from 6.30pm, to see Maendy put on their performance in preparation for the Glamorgan entertainments final.

Glamorgan Hunt will also take to the stage and refreshments will be provided after the performances.
