Police have issued an e-fit of a man they want to speak to after a teenager girl was approached by a man near a South Wales primary school.

The man tried to engage the 13-year-old girl in conversation as she walked down New Road in Porthcawl near Newton Primary School at around 3.15pm on Saturday, November 22.

He began asking her questions, but the girl refused to encourage the conversation and the man walked off down towards Mackworth Road.

The man is described as being white, around 40 years of age and was wearing a green zip up fleece, black joggers and a black woollen hat.

Inspector Richard Weber said: “The teenager was understandably left shaken by this incident but was unharmed. We would like to reassure people that at no point did the suspect make any physical contact with the girl, however we are urging people to look closely at the picture and to give us a call if they believe they have any information which could help our investigation and locate him.”

Anyone who may be able to help is asked to call South Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number 1400437184.
