Some quality golf was played at a glorious Brynhill on Sunday, a blistering 42 points from Nad Hock being just enough to secure victory in the Porth Cup, with second-placed Tony Green losing out by a solitary point.

Mitchel Taylor-Moore picked up the Harry Cocks Cup with a solid 40 points, only one point better than second-placed Dave Taylor, but enough to secure yet another trophy for his already crowded cabinet – what a fantastic season he’s having.

On the team front, Brynhill’s last chance of bringing glory to Barry lies with the battling Wayfarers team.

Captained by Terry Hewings, they need only a point and a half away to Tredegar Park to secure the league. The cup, however, proved to be a bridge too far, as a very strong Cardiff Golf Club hammered them at home 4-1, with only the ever-reliable Sweeny/Goodland partnership preventing a total whitewash.

This Sunday sees a Texas Scramble over the Barry course.
