The 2017 Porthcawl Jazz Festival opens on Friday, April 7 with a concert by The James Taylor Quartet (JTQ) at the Porthcawl Grand Pavilion.

JTQ, led by the eponymous Hammond organ virtuoso, performs a mix of jazz funk, fusion and soul, joins other illustrious names, such as Cleo Laine, Johnny Dankworth, Humphrey Lyttelton and Buddy Greco, that have played at the festival in its 18 years.

All other performances will take place throughout the weekend of April 8 and 9, at the Hi-Tide Inn in Porthcawl.

The overall programme will, said a spokesperson, “…present a carefully balanced mix of favourite festival artists and exciting new bands”.

A variety if tickets is available, including ones specifically for the JTQ concert.
