A motorcyclist has died in a crash involving a lorry on a busy Bridgend road.

South Wales Police said a 54-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the incident on Wednesday morning.

A statement from the force just after 12pm said: “The road remains closed in both directions – please continue to avoid the area.”

There is heavy traffic on the A48 Bridgend Bypass between Heol-Y-Splot (Stormy Down) and A4106 Bridgend Road, at the Redhill Roundabout.
