The annual charity pairs competition was held this month, with Pat Haworth and Gary Williams winning the trophy.

The trophy was donated many years ago by the late Marie Ratcliffe, who was not only a prominent local bridge player, but through her bridge classes, taught many of our existing members the art of the game.

The table money for the evening was supplemented by a raffle, enabling the club to raise £115 for the RNLI.

Saturday, October 3: First, Dian Jones and Kath Grossey; second, Kate Craven and Janet Richards.

Thursday, October 8: First, Gary Williams and Pat Haworth; handicap, Connie Dick and Janet Richards.
