Porthcawl Stroke Club wishes to thank its supporters beginning with the Porthcawl Male Voice Choir who performed in a sell-out concert at the Grove Golf Club recently.

The choir, with chairman Howard Evans, musical director Mair Jones, Richard Davies, pianist and John Jones who sang solo and duets and choir members, all made an evening full of fun and laughter in an outstanding event.

Sophie Humphreys (12), who attends Porthcawl Comprehensive School, raised £300 to support the Porthcawl Stroke Club. Well done to Sophie – your family must be so proud of you!

Thanks also to Idris Thomas and Robert Rixon from the Masonic Porthcawl Venables; Llewellyn Lodge presented a cheque to Keith Duggan.

The club wishes to thank Lions president Don Tickner and David Richards. Both men have not only raised funds, but have given various talks to the Stroke Club and work extremely hard on behalf of their community.

Thanks to Frank Fulgoni from the Horticultural group; Mayors Trust, Rob Lee and wife Ann; the Rotary Club; Bonfire committee; Nora Williams, president of Sker WI; Philip Irwin of The Gem newspaper and Mat Hardwick of Seaside News.

Last, but not least, is a huge thank you to Mr Pat Evans, who donated an electric wheelchair for one of our members, Colin, and a stairlift for another member, Iestyn.

Contact Keith and Mary Duggan on 01656 773376 ?to support any family member who has had a stroke.
