Preview: Thank You For The Music – Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl

SWEDE dreams are made of this. Or they should be if you are promoting a show about the other Fab Four – the Swedish version that is.

The hugely popular concert tribute show to ABBA sashays its way to South Wales next month and it’s bound to have audiences up from their seats and dancing in the aisles.

If you’ve seen the record-breaking movie Mamma Mia!, taken in the smash-hit West End musical, bought the chart topping albums and singles, ABBA fans will want to experience the UK’s number one concert show, Thank You For The Music.

The live concert features ABBA hits like Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Waterloo and scores more.

In addition to an authentic live tribute to the band, it also features show stealers Bee Gees Magic.

The trio, backed by a live band, perform original Bee Gees’ hits like Staying Alive, Massachusetts, Night Fever and How Deep is Your Love as well as million-sellers penned for other artists by the brothers Gibb, including Islands in the Stream, Heartbreaker and Chain Reaction.

“Few bands can claim to have made as big an impact on British pop music history,” says Martin Spooner, who plays Bjorn. Their hits are eternal.

“ABBA’s music is as popular today as it was in their ’70s and ’80s heyday.

“Thank You For The Music continues this incredible legacy.”

Thank You For The Music is at The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl, on August 24. Tickets £19.50 from 01656 815995.
