Sun shines on crowds, floats and fundraisers in the 2016 Porthcawl Buckaneers Carnival

Crowds of people lined the route of this year’s Porthcawl Buckaneers Carnival , which saw groups interpret the theme of Life On A Beach.

The parade left Sandy Bay at Saturday lunchtime and made its way to Porthcawl RFC, where entertainers, rides and stalls awaited carnival goers.

Carnival co-ordinator Kerry Marlow said: “The floats were imaginatively designed and colourful and particularly the Ancient Briton entertained the crowds with music.

“We were also entertained by the Pre Hee Men, Hats for Fun, South Cymru Sapphires Marching Band and the comedy marching band, Westside Allstars.”

Local charities and groups, including Porthcawl Museum and Historical Society, also exhibited on the carnival field and carried out collections.
