Officers and staff at a Bridgend police station have raised another £500 for a local school through their charity tuck shop.

They raised the money through their charity tuck shop in Queens Road police station. A cheque was handed over last month to Newton Primary School in Porthcawl by officers from the Porthcawl Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The money will go towards helping to fund a new outdoor play space at the school.

The tuck shop, which is run by PC Ceri Francis and PC Rea Stephens, has raised around £8,500 for various charities during the past three years.

Local causes that have been given recent donations include Penybont Surf Lifesaving Club and Pen Y Bont Primary School.
