A man from the Rhondda has died after falling on a slipway in Porthcawl

A 40-year-old man has died after reportedly falling from a slipway in Porthcawl.

Leon Roach, from Pentre in the Rhondda Cynon Taf , died on Tuesday, September 4 after being taken to hospital two days earlier in a “critical condition”.

Emergency services and HM Coastguard were called to near Porthcawl Lifeboat Station on the Esplanade at around 6am on Sunday, September 2.

Mr Roach is thought to have fallen from the slipway before being taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend .

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed.

Tributes have been paid on social media.
