Politicians, business owners, landlords, tenants, family and friends attended the Knights Estate Agents’ annual charity coffee morning on High Street, Barry last Friday (September 29).

The event, part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, raised nearly £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Jane Hutt, AM for the Vale, who attended, said: “I’m really delighted that Knights is, yet again, having a Macmillan coffee morning. This is such an important charity.”

Her sentiments were echoed by the Deputy Mayor for the Vale, Coun Leighton Rowland, who recently lost a family friend to throat cancer. He said: “It’s close to my heart, so anything I can do to support Macmillan and Knights, which is holding this coffee morning, then I’m more than happy to do so.”

Bernadette Jones from Knights said: “It’s fantastic to be able to bring the community together and to help raise money for such a wonderful cause”.

Knights continues to support Macmillan with a charity book shelf in its lettings office, where anyone can call in to buy or donate second hand books.
