A new conductor and a new variation on the choir’s annual Christmas concert!

Musical Director Rosie Howarth will be bringing her enthusiasm and energy to conducting this concert featuring Benjamin Britten’s ‘Ceremony Of Carols’, Daniel Pinkham’s ‘Christmas Cantata’ and Will Todd’s ‘Three more Jazz Carols’ from his larger work, Christmas in Blue.

The last two pieces are contemporary works with a jazz twist; accompanied by a brass quintet, our own accompanist, Glenn Crooks, flexing his jazzy piano fingers, and Britten by a local harpist, Angharad Edwards.

Our two accompanying sopranos are both from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama; Grace Wyatt and Catrin Raymond, who may well be singing some solo Welsh items.

Rosie is an MA graduate in choral conducting from the RWCMD, conducts a number of other choirs, and sings in the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

She uses her beautiful soprano voice to great effect in rehearsals, as well as her enthusiasm for dramatic armography. Exciting rehearsals this term!

As usual, the concert will take place in All Saints Church, Porthcawl, on Saturday, December 10 at 7pm. Tickets £10 at the door or call 01656 653326.
