The end of season dinner commenced with Jeannette Williams welcoming the ladies of Cottrell Park.

She reminded everyone of the successes in various competitions this year. She congratulated Jenny McGlyne, non playing captain, and her team consisting of Megan Cullinane, Eleanor Lewis, Lowri Roberts, Helen Little, Tony Parsons, Tony Williams and Bill Bryce who won the Ping Competition organised by Wales Golf, with 66 teams entering, a brilliant achievement.

Congratulations also went to Helen Evans for winning the LGU Medal and Vicki Long and Helen Evans the Mary Nichols Cup. Eleanor Lewis was congratulated on becoming club champion again this year.

Following a meal enjoyed by all, the team captains gave their reports on the seasons’ results.

Vicki Long, first team captain, thanked all those who had played for the first team in Division 3 West and said she was proud to say they had come second in the division thanks to the commitment of the players with Megan even playing on her 14th birthday.

She expects to send a team to the Welsh team championships next year at Langland Bay. She wished good luck to both the first and second teams for next year.

Helen Evans, second team captain reported the results were not so good, they were slightly outclassed in Division 7 East, playing teams with lower handicaps and they were demoted to Division 8.

She commended the support of all the ladies who had played in the matches. She announced Nan Thomas will take over as captain next year.

Lorraine Pointon-Bell, the ladies friendlies captain, thanked all the ladies who had played in the matches and felt they had done well, although the results are not official.

They had all enjoyed the games and the opportunity to play other courses. Patsie Smith will take over as friendly captain next year.

Jeanette thanked the captains for their reports and all their hard work throughout the season, and presented them with bouquets of flowers.
