Elvis lookalikes descended on Porthcawl for their annual celebration of The King

Elvis Presley lookalikes have taken over a Welsh coastal town for a major celebration of The King.

The annual Porthcawl Elvis Festival is the largest event of its kind in the world, with fans and impersonators of the late superstar travelling for miles and miles to be a part of it.

It was one big party

So, if only for a short while, the afro wigs and pink cowboy hats of seafront stag and hen parties everywhere were be replaced by diamanté jumpsuits, huge mutton chops, an entire Cash Converters’ worth of gold bling and gravity-defying jet black quiffs.

It’s a sign of this devoted bunch’s unfaltering dedication to their idol, and the countless hours of musical enjoyment and escapism with which he’s gifted them.

For which they no doubt proffer a daily “thankyouverymuch”.
