AT midday, stars of the music industry, including Boy George and members of Spandau Ballet, will say goodbye to their friend, Visage lead singer Steve Strange.

The funeral of the 80s pop star will take place today at All Saints Church, in Porthcawl.

A public ceremony, all are invited to attend, with the service being projected on loud speakers outside the church.

Rumours suggested that other guests thought to be attending the Fade To Grey singer’s send off may include members of Duran Duran, Kylie Minogue and Morrissey.

Steve Strange, born Steve Harrington, in Caerphilly, died last month, in Egypt, aged 55.

A wake will follow the service, at Porthcawl’s Hi-Tide bar, a venue noted for live music in a town where Steve and his family had settled for many years.

It is thought that friends will perform some of Steve’s songs at the wake, which will also be a public affair.

There will however be a VIP area for the family and close friends.
