Hundreds of pensioners to descend on Porthcawl for conference and rally

Porthcawl’s Grand Pavilion will be the destination for hundreds of Welsh pensioners on Wednesday, June 8 as they head for the Active Wales conference and rally.

Guest speakers for the morning’s conference are Baroness Gale and Sarah Rochira, the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales.

Members of the public are welcome to come along for the rally in the afternoon, which starts at 2.30pm and runs until 5pm.

Entry to the rally is £2.50 and includes a raffle prize draw, and entertainment will include Rubicon Dance, Black Gold and a community sing-along.

John Davies, chair of Active Wales said: “Active Wales – the new name for the National Old Age Pensioners’ Association of Wales – is the oldest and largest wholly pensioners’ organisation in Wales.

“Every year we hold our annual conference and rally in Porthcawl which draws around 300 of our members from across Wales.”
